A customer has requested that I construct a simple partition wall, in her basement, to be located under the central, steel I-beam that runs down the length of the space. Only one side of this 2×4 framed wall will be Sheetrocked. The wall will be 30 feet long with a single door into the ‘other’ side and will be non-loadbearing. Height will be 7 feet.
What are some of the better and easier ways to tie the single top plate to the bottom of the steel I-beam? Thanks for the input!
