Seen Any of These (DP CV) lately?

Isn’t it purdy? These are from 1968. Pulled 11 out for the HO, who was tired of them not gripping a plug. Just loved the stab screwdriver in back to release, too (wrestling with solid #12 that has not been disturbed in 35 years). Not real keen on who ever passed the house with one-size-fits all boxes–gets a little crowded with three pairs of #12s. The ground lead was right skinny, around #24. Hadn’t seen that sort of thing in quite some time (not that I needed another bawky wire in the box . . .)

Worked on a friend's house last year.
Had those, from the mid 50's. Basically the same but no grounds.
Also the wires where only stuck out about 2" past the box. Made it like h*ll getting them out.
Her's where GE's and they really held the plugs.
I used to cut the pigtails short, too--until I started doing remo work <grin>.
I like bigger boxes for the same reason.
Ah, the things experience teaches us.
In my own house, I've got too many of the original 1951 recepticals. What a joy to work on (or with). Wiring is even more fun, it's all fabric-covered rubber-insulated #12 in a zip-cord sheath. All of which is wired just like it was K&T, without being K&T.Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
