I’m considering running some 3″ plastic schedule 40 conduit under where the foundation (simple crawlspace) will be poured in to my house-to-be. I have a long driveway (450′) and the power company will only come in 350′ to the meter, so I’m installing a meter pole at 350′ and thinking of making a beeline diagonally under the house with conduit (and 3/0 wire) to minimize the voltage drop in the last 100′. Otherwise, I have to circumnavigate around the septic tank, which adds 30′ and three 45 degree bends. It occurs to me to wonder if the beeline under the foundation footing is OK. I know you can put conduit vertically in an exteror foundation wall and sweep it directly outside, underground.
Thanks for any pointers. Daffy

Personally, I would go around rather than try to take a short cut. The extra 30' is nothing and three 45* turns won't add much difficulty to the cable pull. I've pulled fiber optic cable several thousand feet with no problems as long as the duct is clean and the cable is well lubricated.
A couple of suggestions -
Dave,
Thanks for your good suggestions. And sorry to post and get back weeks later. Life sort of overwhelmed me for a while.

Are you doing the work yourself, or using an electrician?
Yourself; use the shortest distance with the fewest turns. 100' of 3/0 through 3" should be no problem with just two sweeping ells for a couple of men. Add more 45s and more length and the grunt factor goes up.
Electrician; let him select the route and the method of the pull.
