What brand/style of shingle can be used over an unvented (i.e stress skin panel) without voiding the warranty? Or would it be better to build a cold roof? Thanks

j- I have seen people post here that Celotex will give a ten year warranty on non-vented cathedral ceilings, but I don't know if it's true. Their standard warranty makes no mention of this. I am familiar with most mfs. warranties and am aware of none. Why don't you run 1x3 sleepers on top of the panels, 16" OC,then install plywood over that? Then run ridge vent. Sure it will be an extra cost, but the full shingle warranty is worth it in my opinion. I don't know what the span rqmnts. are on the stess skin, but you would have to be sure that the added weight of the sleepers and plywood don't exceed the design load for the panels.
