Thanks to those that provided input on the shower design on which I’m working.
I am wondering now what is the best way to do the door, and where best to locate the control valve.
In this overhead plan view, you see the shower, its door with hinges so that they are toward the spray head, and two possible control valve positions.
Which way works best when hinging the door? As shown, or reversed? And, as for the valve, where is it best located? Most of us open the door, turn on the shower, let it warm, then open the door again and go inside.
In this render view, you can see the arrangement again. The yellow “cube” represents the IRC code requirement for 80 inches minimum height and the 30×30 minimum footprint adjacent the spray head.

She was one of many I could have chosen from Google's 3D Warehouse.
Having interviewed them all, I thought you would like her the best.
