Installing 1×10 pine shiplap flooring over advantech subfloor. I want to facenail, but not interested in a “historical” look with cut nails. I’ve done it with my framing nailer in the past, but I’m looking for something more consistent and less sloppy this time around.
Would 2-1/2″ ring shanked coil siding nails give enough holding power? Thanks

They wouldn't be my go-to, but they might work. I just tore up a similar pine floor fastened with 8D spiral shank nails, and they were tough.
I've shot 1000's of ring shanks on cedar siding. They hold well, almost like screws.
My concern with them isn't their withdrawal resistance, but rather that their shank diameter is too thin to resist lateral movement.
