Whilst loading up on strong ties for my shed project, I looked up at my carport, which is ripple fiberglass on frame construction. I noticed the beams sitting on the 4X posts have no tie plates. The joists and rafters are toenailed to the beams. Worth a retro-fit with corner and top-post braces? It has been there for 30 years as best I can tell. Also, some beams meet at the post, with only a piece of 2×4 splicing over the top. Ideas?
