This is a question that has my curiosity in high gear.
What size are the cans that paint comes in, in Canada?
If you’re wondering why I ask, it’s because I bought some Dutch Paint (brand) and it come in EuroQuarts (750ml) and EuroGallons (2.5L).

Do you have to put it on with a EuroRoller (10 cm)? Did you pay for it with EuroDollars?
Everything I buy is in 946ml or 3.79l cans no matter which side of the border it was made on.

Interestingly enough, 3.79 litres is one american gallon. Twenty years ago we actually got one canadian gallon when we bought a gallon of paint.
Schreuder is the manufacturer, and I've seen it called Dutch Paint, it is made in Holland.
Interestingly, they also make the paint sold under the name Martha Stewert (sp). I didn't look to see how big that "gallon" is,
thanks for the info.bobl Volo Non Voleo Joe's cheat sheet

No, they don't. They sell their paint in a collection of Martha Stewart colors. (In euro-quarts and euro-gallons) The Martha Stewart paint is sold at K-Mart and maybe other places. They are not the same.
I stand corrected

Actually, the Martha Stewart paint comes in both sizes of can for the same price.
When you or I go to buy it, it turns out that Martha and her friends got to all the bigger cans the day before. :-(Women and men of wit are dangerous tools,And ever fatal to admiring fools.

Yes, but not any more. When we went metric, companies like CIL no longer felt the need to make the full gallon cans; especially since they were unmarketable in the US (no-one could understand the 5-quart gallon or why it would cost more than a US 4-quart gallon)..

My goodness, what a pithy remark.
Actually, it's 3.78 liters, but who's counting......
I was doing rental apartment repaints back then and the price for the American gallon size stayed the same as what I had been paying for Imperial gallons.
Seems to be the way marketing usually works. I wonder how the price compares when you calculate those Euro gallons up to the 3.79 L size. I bet its up five or more percent.
Just like coffee, you used to buy a 1 pound tin of coffee, which became a 454g tin of coffee, which became a 400g, ... now the same size tin only has 300g of coffee in it - marketing is all perception..

There was some good came from that coffee sleight-of-hand. The price got so high in the can that beans became the option of choice. I'm enjoying much fresher and better coffee these days as a result.
