Years ago, an article in Fine Homebuilding, listed a paint brand and color which supposed to mimic sky color (I think for a porch ceiling). Does anyone remember where the article is or what the paint was?
Thank you,
John

Sky Blue?
Do not try this at home!
I am a trained professional!
I don't remember article ,but just finished a sky in showroom for kite company, I painted ceiling and upper walls with white paint for base than I sprayed randomly with airless 3 different blues the color of the sky in our area. I took paint chips out side on clear day with few clouds and picked three colors. I did not fully cover the area with blue left the white in areas for clouds after the blue I had some areas that seemed to blue so I dusted areas with a mixture of white and blue not mixed just swilled this softed the areas and created a great look. I did all painting after base wet on wet because no color fully covers and it allowed the colors to slightly blend. I was able to do a 3000 square foot area in about 3 hours. The faux painters wanted over $2500 for area I did it for less than $1200 and customer thinks it looks better than the faux painters other skys.
