Good luck with it. Seriously. I'm a non-smoker, but I lost my grandmother earlier than I should have to lung cancer, and my grandfather had emphesima that severely restricted him later in life. Both caused by smoking. I'm sure your friends/family will be glad to have you around longer now that you are a non-smoker.
I've heard chewing on toothpicks or gum helps. Don't know how much.
I quit a bit more than a year ago. (Used the Zyban.) I agree that the first few days were actually easier than the next couple of months.
But you GOTTA KEEP AT IT. Don't go back. Be better -- better health, better tastin food, clearer mind, better sleeping habits..... and you will never smell like smoke to your friends, relatives, and customers. Sit through a two hour movie with your love, without wanting to leave and light up halfway through. Travel in someone else's car whenever you want.
Evenually those cravings will get easy. I've heard that they never go away completely, but mine are now very easy.
Stick with it. The result is truly worth it.
And remember..........
Unless you're the lead dog, the view just never changes.
Previous posts on this subject have said chewing licorice is a great help.
I smoke,should quit,haven't.Someday someday yeah.
Read and reread medical reports about the bodily effects from smoking until it alarms you.
Then find that pic of a healthy pink lung compared with the crystalized black lung of a long time smoker and commit it to memory or carry it around with you.
Sometimes just the thought
