I have a well which provides 40F degree water all year. I wish to incorporate a solar collector using a glycol closed-loop system to collect solar heat in a storage tank which acts as a pre-heater, upstream of my domestic hot water supply, thus tempering the input temp of water entering my standard h2o heater. This storage/pre-heater needs to have a heat exchange coil inside the tank. All I can find is a Buderus hot water heater designed to work with an existing boiler. This would work just fine, it’s exactly what I’m looking for, but the price of the Buderus is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Any other products out there?
