The original owner of this house had solar installed. The part of the solar that supplements the hot water heater uses automotive antifreeze. I’m reasonably certain of this because one of the soldered joints went bad and what I’m guessing is almost all of the antifreeze leaked out and it
b looks
just like automotive antifreeze.
Anyways, I remember reading on this board that antifreeze was particularly hard on soldered copper joints. For this particular purpose, is there an optimum combination of flux and solder? Or is one kind of solder as good as another?
Thanks,
Rich Beckman
