I’m working on a condo in an old building, the floors are 1X8 planks over the joists. Previously they were sheathed with 1/4 in. something? and vinyl over that. The downstairs occupant says there was too much sound coming through. The owner doesn’t like ceramic. I’m leaning towards some kind of cork or rubber sandwiched between layers of osb or plywood, or maybe between the planks and the sheathing. This a kitchen.
I’m looking for any suggestions regarding possibilities of materials and installation.
