Hello!

I have removed the aluminum soffit system from my 1913 bungalow, and have some rotten ends on the re-exposed rafter tails.  For the short term, I am going to use some epoxy and sawdust to keep water out.  Splicing is in the not-too-distant future.  Any sage advice on the proper approach to splicing into the 4×6 douglas fir rafter tails?  Thanks.
