I’ve got an acrylic/plastic panel that is going to be used on an arcade cabinet I’ve built. The edges need to be sprayed black to cover everything except the screen. I’ve tried once before, but the first coat left pinholes. After it dried, I tried to touch those spots up, but the original paint began to crackle.
I’m using spraypaint for plastic, but I can’t figure out why it would do what it did.

It may have to do with the drying of the first coat; some paints will instruct that the recoat must occur within 20 minutes or after 24 hours. I ran into a similar situation w/ lacquer some time back. The solvents in the respray were attacking the "flashed off' skin of the still wet (underneath) first coat.
This is not my beautiful wife, this is not my beautiful house, my god... how did we get here?
