Stacked cabinets – sit on anything?

We are putting a “stacked” cabinet on a bathroom granite countertop. The cabinet is a wall unit, and will be on the granite.
Is there any way to keep splashed water from wicking up the cabinet’s wood. Seems like a gasket / something to raise the cabinets wood above the granite about 1/8 inch is needed between the cabinet bottom and the granite – what is standard practice here?

Can it be fastened to the wall?
What about putting it right on the granite and putting down a thin bead of matching caulk?
This is a pet peeve of mine. The cabinet surface ajacent the sink is the least durable between c'top and backsplash and can potentially look like poo after many cleanings...depends somewhat on type of finish and cleaning regimen. Can the backsplash wrapped onto cab side?
If I had to do without backsplash, I'd run a SKINNY bead of Alex Plus clear at cab/c'top intersection.
Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.
