Any suggestions on what to use and how to install a brushed stainless steel backsplash all the way up to the bottom of the cupboards for a kitchen remodel? That’s what the customer wants…never installed one.
Thanks,
Jerry P.

Jerry;
We remodel restaurants, and frequently we are asked to cover wall surfaces with stainless steel panels. The same techniques for full walls will work with a backsplash, assuming the cabinets/tops are not already installed; using a 20ga or 22ga stainless steel sheet apply full coverage construction adhesive to the back, and then press to the wall, pull from the wall to "breathe" then repress, and roll out using a laminate roller.
I would size the sheets approximately 2" taller than the areas that need to be covered so that your upper cabinets and lower countertops will cover any edges. The lengths of the sheets need to be cut exactly to your wall dimensions, and inside/outside corners can be covered with moldings broken from stainless steel and attached with clear silicone.
To finish you can caulk any voids using either clear or aluminum colored silicone caulking.
*Call your laminate supplier and ask for a chain of formica's metal laminates.You then apply them just like a laminate backsplash.Lots, about 40, last I checked, variations.Dave
