Finishing up my first (and last) curved stairway. We’re going to carpet the center of the stairs (treads and risers). Looking for advice on the best wearing type of carpet and pad to use for this application. Thanks all.

Hi ,just a guess, but if it is curved every step will have a miter cut in the carpet to fit the curve of the stairway. A pro carpet installer is the best for such an application , don't you think ? But lets see what the real pros have to say on the subject. Good luck , Susan
Thanks for the response. We're not real concerned about the actual installation, but the type of carpet and pad that will give the best wear / appearance.
I'm thinking the experts selling the carpet would have the most knowledge on the subject. I've found that a good pad and thick carpet helps when falling down the stairs. Been there done that !Susan
