Are there standard sizes for certain plumbing connections?
For instance, is there a standard size/type of connection for where the dishwasher hose connects to the hot water under the sink?
So many bath and kitchen faucets seem to come with their own supply hoses now. I was told that these always require 3/8″ compression fittings at the shutoff valve. Is that true?
Last, do the mixing valves for standard tub/single showerhead hardware sets usually have threaded or sweat fittings? Or does that vary?
I really appreciate any answers you guys can offer.

supply lines come in 3/8" or 1/2" to match the shut off which are usually 3/8 or 1/2. Tub and shower valves can be either threaded or solder.

Yes. Those and frostproof faucets often come setup so that you can sweat 1/2" copper inside or screw on 1/2 FIPS fitting.
The common stop valves for faucet and toilet supplies have 3/8" compression fittings. Likewise the DW.
Icemakers and water in the door frigs use 1/4".
For kitchen and basin faucets the risers are 3/8's to 1/2 IPS on the faucet end.
DW use 3/8's tubing (or hose) with 3/8's compression both ends.
And toilets are 3/8 to 7/8 on the bottom of the fill valve.
That is what you will find today. But there have been some variations.
For example some facuets used to come with 3/8" copper tubbing.
And apparently there where stop valves for toilets that had 7/8's threaded outlets on them.

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
Thanks for the information!
If I remember correctly, I never saw a faucet with pre-attached supply lines until the last several years. Now it seems the last several I've purchased have them.
What I can't remember is if most of these pre-attached lines have a 3/8" compression fitting on the end that attaches to the angle stop valve.
Do you know if most of those, whether they are kitchen or bath, are 3/8"?
I'm putting together an order from pexsupply, and I don't have all my faucets picked out. Actually, I have most of them, but I'd hate to try to find them right now.
I have seen thos when looking at facuets, but never ended up selecting them so it does not stick in my mind. But my guess would be that they where 3/8's..
