I am currently working on a bid for a steel roof to be placed directly over the old rolled roofing. My customer told me he heard of a fastener that is better than the rubber washered type that I am familiar with. Are there other type’s of washered fasteners I could use, that would last longer? The lumber yards around here don’t seem to know of any others. any info would be appriciated. Thanks.

REFER TO THE MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDATIONS PRIOR TO ANY OTHER CONSIDERATIONS OF A BETTER FASTENER. YOU MAY VOID OR COMPLICATE WARRANTY ON YOUR INSTALLATION AS WELL AS THE MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY ON THE PRODUCT. THE MANUFACTURER IS ALSO THE MOST LIKELY SOURCE FOR THE BEST ALTERNATIVE DEVICES.
*Thanks Steve, That sounds like the best advice I could possibly give my customer.
