All of my windows in my 10 yr old house have a little paint on the Jambs, Head and Sill as well as between sashes. These are double hung windows with a typical sash lock. The windows had paint on them before we started to paint the inside of our house but not much paint was present on the jambs. Just enough however to make the windows stick. Latex paint allways seems to stick now matter how little paint is accidentally applied to the jambs. Where the sashes overlap in the middle of the window is most problematic. The window stops at the top of the window is a problem as well.
So my question is how can I free up the windows permanently from sticking without destroying the window sashes and is there a recommended paint or sealer that should be applied to windows that will not stick so much like latex paint. My only temporary solution right now is to spray some silcone lubricant on the window periodically. This temporary solution still doesn’t solve the problem with the top and bottom sash sticking together.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
