I am looking for good stucco details for a tutor remodel. Any suggestions of organizations or websites that will provide?

Tamara:
If I could kind of butt in and restate the question to make it more
general, I have the same need: are there any books, web sites,
resources for basic stucco installation info? Taunton doesn't have a
book (*hint*, *hint*, maybe it's not a big enough topic?), and web,
amazon, and FHB archive searches have yielded nothing worthwhile. I'm
a long-time motivated DIY who typically reads something and does it.
20 pages and some pictures would do it.

try builder online. they have a concrete site with books and there is a pretty good one on stucco
*About a year ago there was a link posted to a stucco website. I bet Matt G or Andrew D. know the address. E mail them if they don't hop in.

You can start by going to chapter 25 of the Uniform Building Code. This will give you some of the minimum requirements. If you find articles in builder magazines like this one make sure that the detailing is suitable for your local. The current straw bale house shows a plaster detail that omits building paper, weep-screeds and expansion joints (the designer relies upon large overhangs to keep water off the walls) Here in Seattle where we get a lot of light rain and overhangs are typically small, this detailing would fail.
*The Northwest Wall & Ceiling Bureau puts out an excellent manual titled "Portland Cement Plaster - Stucco Resource Guide" (dated 1997). They have a website where you can order it or call 206-524-4243. This is a very exhaustive look at stucco construction. Good luck.
