I Have added a chimney onto the gable end of my house with plans for stucco stone on it. I hired a guy to lath and scratch coat it. However, where the scratch coat came down to the roof he didn’t put a weep screed but just mudded down on top of the comp shingles. I know this is wrong but can it cause a problem what to do about it?? DOes it need to have metal thhere or can i simply remove the scratch coat up an inch or so off the roof and call it good???

What all is behind the stucco? Hopefully two layers of moisture barrier then metal flashing where the stucco meets the shingles. Did the moisture barriers overlap the metal flashing? Stucco needs a gap for expansion. 1/2" aught to do it.

The roof is flashed properly with step flashing etc. The paper and scratch coat comes down over the flashing just fine but he broughht thhe mud right down on top of the comp shingles
