I have read a lot of things that say polyuretane is the glue to use
however today, the lumberyard was telling me it does not stickt hat well in the wet and cold as first thought
and recomended a glue that wa half the price, made by the same company
on it it says will stick in wet and cold, will not roll on frozen joists
anyway, things are alsways changing
even saw the posts where someone was saying to use expanding foam for adhesive
so aide from that anybody have any real preference. in cold and wet

Adhesives are made for subfloor and deck applications in the wet and ice. Many companies make them in both solvent and water base. They should meet the Engineered Wood Association's spec. AFG-01. I've used a number of different brands when the snow was falling. I was surprised at how well they worked even when you couldn't scrape all the ice off the joists. Why spend extra for something that may not have been designed to do the job.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Heat the glue...not too hot though.
I once had an electric heater in my van, heating the tubes......left it on too long....luckily my partner was walking by the van at the instant the box of glue burst into flames.
A little head board scorching cant hurt a real man's truck!
