I just installed three new 4-tube florescent lights in a crafts room, grabbed the box of tubes, installed those, and admired the bright light.
Then I noticed that I’d picked up a box of T12 bulbs rather than T8. I can’t find anything in the literature or on the internet that says that that will cause a problem other than more energy usage. Anyone know any different?

You should check the ballast (transformer) rating to make sure that you will not create problems.
I see many of the new fixtures are dual marked.
You need to look fixutre information or if not available, open it up and look at the lable on the ballast.
That will tell you what bulbs it can handle.

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
Thanks,
I'll open the one of the units and look at what the ballast says. I see from several sites that replacement ballasts do show ratings for both T8 and T12.
