I’m a DIY’er, and have a question or two. I use the snot out of my router, B&D, both in and out of a table. I worry about all the shavings dropping down into the casing while it is in the table. Does that hurt the router? Are there any brands that seem to hold up better than others to being in a table? Thanks.

Have enough routers to trip over.
4 in stationary applications (upside down).
Total time for these boogers upside down>20 years.
I have dropped some hardware down a few but I knew it, pulled the motors out before restarting and poured out the junk.
Chips do get in the motors from time to time and Sears users have claimed a few self-destructions.
I have not had a problem.
Folks do put a screen over the motor if overly concerned.
Routers
*I just blow mine out with compressed air periodically. i do get a lot of wood shvings out of it.
*I put a dust-mask over mine; just punch a hole for the shaft and use the headband to hold it on
*Pat, Thanks for the link. Phil, I'll have to give that a try. Thanks all for the advice.
