Just purchased a house with a known leaky roof, two skylights over a breezeway. I removed the interior coverings and exposed some major damage. I’m in northern Ohio and the temprature is in the low 20’s with some snow on the roof, how would I go about placing and securing tarps over the leaking area? I understand this to be only a temporary fix, but If I can do the tarping right I’m hoping to make it to warmer weather when I planed to add an addition to the house that would reomve that hole area of the roof.
Thanks
Andy

use throw bags to get the ropes over the roof, tie to the tarp grommets and hoist sail..if ya want to really impress the neighbors weight them down with some tires or an old toilet.<G>
Late this fall I passed a hotel nearby and they had tarped the entire roof (I mean big) for what I thought was to protect it during a reroof.
Turns out, it's there for the whole winter.
You should be able to do it.

ive had to tarp down roofs before and i try to get a tarp thats big enough to pull down and screw into wall or soffit. when i need to strap it down i take 1x3s and screw it down but when i needed to leave it for awhile i cut 1/4 in plywood into 4x4in sqs. and cut 4x4 sq pcs of ice and water shield and sandwich it between tarp and plywood and it never leaks i stopped using the gromits and tieing them down they always pull out. dogboy
