After twenty years it is necessary to renew the termite protection treatment on my Georgia house. When built in the early 1980’s the foundation hole and perimeter of the house were flooded with clorodane. I am aware that there are now two methods of retreatment: 1) digging trenches around the home and drilling into the driveway and garage floor in order to pour in a liquid chemical poison, and 2) placing cylinders around the periphery of the house which contain a bait and poisons which can be carried bact to their colonies by the termites.
I have two questions regarding this.
1) In terms of obtaining the greates protection for a house in Georgia, is one of these two methods signicantly more effective.
2) Would it be possible to to employ both methods, i.e., a poison barrier immediately around the house to AND poisoned bait stations? Inspectors have given me contradictory responses to this question.
