We live in Kansas City and had some minimal termite activity when we moved into our house 2 years ago. We had it treated with Sentricon at that time and all is well.
The company now wants $344 annually to continue monitoring the bait stations. Sounds like a poor value to me and I am considering other options. Does anyone have thoughts about Termidor? I was previously under the impression that Sentricon was better than barrier methods, but Termidor seems to have good results. The price is about two years worth of Sentricon monitoring. I am told it would last 10 years.
Should I
1) Stick with Sentricon?
2) Go now with Termidor?
3) Forgo protection until I see another problem?
4) None of the above.
Thanks

"3) Forgo protection until I see another problem?"
This is a possibility, but it somewhat depends on the details of your house.
Do you have a nice tall visible foundation above ground all the way around the house that is easily inspected for termite runs?
Do you have a nice basement or at least a spacious crawl space that can be easily inspected??
Or do you have siding that runs close to the ground back behind the bushes where termite runs are very difficult to see? And a crawl space that is difficult to access, dark and nasty and hard to move around in??
The point being that you don't want to "Forgo protection until [you] see another problem" if the problem is going to be $20,000 of needed structural repairs.

termidor is the answer.
the bait stations are not. they are not a "treatment". lose them quick. many problems with them
