While I’m here –
I have an old (like 100 yrs) frame rent house up in OK, out in the country. It sets on poured concrete stem walls that are 3′ tall. Not concrete block, but poured concrete. The interior floors are supported by 4×4 white oak posts each set on a concrete slab. The crawl space underneath is 3′ high.
There are a few termite tunnels running up the interior support posts and a couple running up the inside of the stem wall. They have been there since early this spring.
The old house has a basement (yes, in Okla) from which the entire underneath of the house is visible and can be reached with a high pressure spray. Back 15 years ago I soaked the ground under the house with Chloradane, which kept the termites away till now. But, Chloradane is not longer available.
Is there anything I can buy for giving the ground a thorough soaking that will get rid if the termites? (no pest license) Looking for cheap options here cause the old house ain’t worth much.

Perhaps used motor oil? I've never tried it myself, but I've heard it's good for .... I don't really remember, but it was something like pesticide or weed killer.

I just looked at a can that I got at the hardware store call "Ant and Termite Killer". It says that it is not desgined for underground use and it is a suppliment to professional treatment for termite.
But it sound like you have an esiely accessible location and you could redo it every year or so.
Check out a good hardware store.
Mike,
Don't use motor oil. You can use a bait, a barrier and/or a poison. I like a permethrin because of low toxicity, but it may kill cats.
Here is link for supplies.

"......but it may kill cats."
You say that as if it's a bad thing...........
If toast always lands butter-side down, and cats always land on their feet, what would happen if you strap toast on the back of a cat and drop it?
Ron,
I like cats. When I was a poor student the health police closed my favorite mexican restaurant for cooking cats. I really like kitty enchillados.

"I really like kitty enchillados."
That's sick, warped, and twisted.
