i am going to be installing 1×8 t&g idaho white pine on the interior of a house. the exterior walls are sheathed with plywood and let-in bracing on the inside. the trusses are sheathed with plywood and bracing all through them. is there any need to sheetrock the walls and trusses before installing the t&g? the insurance company does not care either way.

Alayer of sheetrock will act as a dust shiled on the ceili9ng, helping to keep things from filtering through the cracks. Also acts as a draft barrier. And you'll need longer screws/nails to go throught the rock. On the other hand, you don't need to land the end joints on studs/rafters with sheetrock.
