With all the euphoria about radiant systems I am not sure I am asking a pc questions but… I would like a system that would both heat and cool/dehumidify with that in mind has any one used the Unico system. What do you think about it, how long have you used it etc.

We replaced electric baseboard with FHW heat last fall. For the upstairs zone, we installed a Unico (we wanted A/C upstairs, downstairs was not easily done as we are on a slab.)
The Unico was installed in a *tiny* section of crawlspace. Our constractor, who's done several Unico systems, initially dismissed the space...but I went in there and measured and it just fit. Just. It's truly amazing how little space the thing needs. Which was ideal for us as we also have no attic, just a crawlspace with about two feet of clearance at the peak.
The ductwork is similarly flexible. They managed to snake those ducts (two inch, round) to where they needed to get them, even when there was only a few inches of clearance.
Obviously, I can't really comment on the cooling aspects of the system other than to say that it worked very well the one day we've needed it.
The heat works fine and is quite comfortable - not nearly as dry as with a furnace.
I was initially worried about the high pressure air handlers. The contractor assured me that they wouldn't be an issue and he was right...properly located you won't notice the air flow unless you are *directly* underneath the nozzle. (Aside: our cats LOVE to sit directly underneath the nozzles which shows that the heat but not the airflow is present at floor level - their fur isn't ruffled.)
To sum up: The system is quiet, works well, no drafts, installs in spaces that you wouldn't believe possible and is cheap to run. We love it. Two thumbs WAY up.

Greg: I've seen ads for this stuff, but now I can't remember where. Do they have a website?
*Unico ?

Their website is http://www.unicosystem.com.

Thanks Greg.

Thanks Greg sounds good. I was concerned about the noise others claimed that high veocity systems are loud so I wasn't sure what to expect.
