I have an old house with all plaster walls
the base coat is a white sand gypsum with hydrated lime with some sort of binder. The finish is plaster, lime and a silica sand. — in second story of our home my wife painted the walls dark read with a white trim and it really looks nice. But!, in the winter time we seem to get some sort of moisture up there and we cant figure it out where it’s coming from. The walls get a few dark spots and sometimes moisture will run down the walls in a few small areas. It seems as though the moisture is coming right through the walls. with the walls painted red and the moisture running down the walls it make the walls look as though they’re bleeding. Is there anything I can do to stop this — what is the causes of this? will my house bleed to death?
