I’am planning replacing a tile surround around tub and shower.(Greenboard turned to mush) I would like to use backerboard behind tiled areas.I know to use a cementiuos type joint compound for the backerboard seams but I’am not sure what product to use for joints where backerboard meets drywall. Any sugestions?

Skim-coating with joint compound covers texture, renews old drywall and plaster, and leaves smooth surfaces ready to paint.

Mud. Durabond preferably.
