The people that had been renting my house managed to trash the diverter valve stem in the bathtub/shower. No problem in obtaining a replacement, the problem is that whoever tiled the enclosure cut one of the tiles so that it is flush with the nut that fastens the diverter stem to the diverter assembly. I need to chip or grind out enough clearance to get a socket or wrench around the nut. I haven’t seen it in any local store, but there are listings on the Web for a diamond wheel for a Dremel grinder. I figure this might be my best shot. I don’t think I could get a tile nibbler in the space available. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to get the necessary clearance without cracking the existing tile would be appreciated.
