I am doing a 350sf tile floor and need to purchase a new wetsaw. I’ve always rented
them but now need to buy. So which one should I buy. I want something that can cut
12×12 tile on a 45 degree bevel (edge miter). I am looking to spend about $300 to
$400. Is there anything out there like this that is of some decent quality. Can anyone
help me?

in the rental store picking up some servied drills saw a target wet saw that is a table top model selling for 500.00 canadian think thats 350.00 us i to rented for last couple jobs a target with stand and priced them for 1000.00 used i think this is a welcome addition to a great line of saws for medium duty last year tiled our kitchen floor in flordia and got the 100.00 dollar plastic saw at home depot which worked well but is a throw away after a few hundred tile but was able to take my time and not worry about rental fee
*We have a 7" MK brand, it cuts good, but its real noisy, vibrates bad, and its hard to hold tile and see where your cutting due to low mount motor assy. (far worse than any DeWalt tool) and were on the second H2o pump. There are some accessories available. Be sure to use a good grounded plug w/GFCI protection because the water sprays/mists everything in the area, I swear if it dont cut off a finger, it will electrocute instead. So be careful!
*Pat,I've only used 1 saw, the MK101 as a rental unit from the big orange box (the depot). I thought is was great. My philosophy is to always buy the best tool you can. It will always pay off in the long run and you are usually sorry your didn't buy the "better" tool later. The MK101 worked great and cut very smoothly. It was a bit heavy and also sprayed water everyware so using it inside is a bit tricky especially in a finished house. I think just in doing 1 bathroom I spent $200+ in rental fees. If you are going to do a lot of tile jobs don't skimp on the saw, it is an investment.RegardsTim
*I am not a tile pro but have installed about 5000 sqft of large tile in the last couple of years. I bought one of the Harbor Freight clones of the Target design.. I think the current price is $399 + $50 for the stand if you want one. This is obviously not of the same quality as the Target or MK but does a really nice job. The only problem I've had is that the arbor bearings became real rough and noisy after cutting a lot of border tile. I was cutting 16x16 tile in quarters the cutting each quarter diagonally to make triangular pieces. After cutting and laying 300 feet of this border the bearings died. Good news is that they are standard bearings and only took an hour or so to change.
