Hey All,
Been a nail pounder a good while now but there’s always something new to work with.
Never had call to use any TJ in the work we do so I don’t know much about using them. Current job gets a clear span 3 bay garage with TJ’s as the 2nd deck floor, …. so it’s time to learn.
These are OSB web with solid wood 2×3 top and bottoms.
I was in on one house with them a long time ago but I wasn’t lead on the job and don’t remember much other than somthing about crush blocks and this real thick OSB for band.
Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance !

Phat B - Get yourself a TJI manual from Trus Joist (or Weyerhauser, Boise Cascade, etc.) through your local lumber yard. All the details, including Timberstrand rim board and squash blocks for bearing conditions, are in there.
Or, you can look at them on-line by clicking here

*If you have them that are longer than 24 feet carry them with two guys. One at each end about 1/5 too 1/4 thier length in from the ends and standing up as if they were installed in the floor. That keeps them from flopping around and beating the crap out of you when you haul them.jim
