Ran across this article on the history of topping out practices. Since there was an extended discussion of this some time back on Breaktime, I thought I would toss it up here for those of you interested in such things. This article is on topping out for steel structures, but the history references are still relevant. I would have referenced the past discussions, but I can’t figure out the right choice of terms to find them… (Note that this is in the Adobe .pdf format)
