I saw this Cyclone verticle fire system in a magazine, and thought it was pretty cool
I don’t know what I’d do with it, but I like it.
But I’m a bit of a pyro, anyway.
A stand alone version is supposed to go for around $3500, so its way down on my want list.

Pretty cool!
I like fire too. That one would be neat to watch for awhile, but the cost wouldn't be worth an occasional ooh and ahh from me.
Still pretty cool!

I saw a home made version at Burning Man last year. I was litterly drawn to it like a moth to a flame when I spotted it at a distance. He achieved the spiral action by leaving a 1" overlaping gap verticly in the plexi cylinder.
Neat!
How big is that flame?
It depended on how much he cranked open the propane valve. In the photo its sitting abought 2' off the ground and at that moment it was around 4' high. I saw it opened up so that it was between 6-7' high with a base dia of around 14". Could'nt do it that big for to long or it would start to melt the plexi.
If anybody is a pyro at heart then Burning Man is the place to be (end of August in the Nevada desert). And did I mention all hotties! Many of whom are half neked or all neked. Yowza!!
As fun as Burning Man sounds, being in the Nevada desert in August just doesn't appeal to me in the least.
With all the desert heat, fire just seems redundant.
Yeah but its a dry heat. Also at night it routinely gets down in the 40's, fire is nice then.
