I would like to locate a track lighting fixture that is not modern in its design. I’ve searched through several website catalogues and found only what I consider very modern designs. I was wondering if anyone has a lead on a fixture that doesn’t look like it was designed by NASA, or an art gallery? Thanks

most lighting stores still carry the 80's style heads for track. They may have become a bit smaller and the edges are softened. I don't know if you can find any that look like a coffee can anymore.

All of the track lighting that I have seen has been more-or-less modern in its design. Perhaps the designers think of it as recent and modern. It would seem that the light modules could use shades in the craftsman, tudor, classic, art deco, or other styles, but I haven't seen it. There is a manufacturer of reproduction lighting in my town of Portland, OR, called Rejuvenation that has a pretty good reputation, perhaps they could make up some track lighting lamps based on some of their designs. Of course, even if they will do it, it won't be cheap...
Perhaps you should think about some other type of task lighting besides track...
