Im going to have to use Trek decking finally and have a few questions. What is the best fastening program…I ve seen the deck screw and mash the fiber bit but this seems bogus??.What happens months later?…do all those compressed hamburgers puff up.?And does the material rout okay if i want to round over ends and closure boards?Im a woodhick so my opinion is still forming about this stuff but ze client gets what ze client wants on this particuliar jobbie. Thanks folks.

Trex can be treated just like wood when using a router, and it can be nailed on the face (very visible) or screwed down on the face. The little ruffed up mushrooms hide the screw heads fairly well, and they don't seem to become more visible over time. My Trex deck is six years old, and the fasteners appear the same.
