I’ve seen poster size molding profile sections hanging in places like lumber yard counters etc.
I would like to find a web page that has all the common profiles on one page. Does anybody know of such an animal?

I've seen some of those, they are usually put out by the shop that is making the mouldings.
We had one taped on the wide belt sander, they were the mouldings that we made, our custom knives. Of coarse some of them were fairly standard profiles.
Most millwork shops have there own profiles and probably have print outs of them. You might try asking for a copy.
I'm sure there are other sources for these prints, just the info on what I know.

Doug,
I think you're correct that the mill puts them out. I am hoping to get an online reference that I can call up with ease.
Can you tell me that the profile names are the same across the country? For instance do you get WM 445 casing?

I have a chart I got from a lumber yard I used to go to. I've been in meetings where the trim saleman had books of stuff...try Dogpile Don't worry, we can fix that later!
The WM series of profiles are standard styles. I used to have a book of their profiles ... can't quite recall what WM stands for but it is something like Western Millwork MFRs Assn. I will Google around and see if I can find a site for them. My book came from Woodmaster, which also made my planer-moulder. You might check their site.
Okay I found them. It is the "Wood Molding and Millwork Producers Association". Check out their bookstore. They don't seem to have the profiles online though. i'll try to put in a link.

The profiles are full size so they don't all fit on one page. You may be able to purchase one of their dealer charts, wouldn't hurt to ask.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
you could Google for Moldings + CAD.
most sellers provide cad drawings online, but they are generally one page per drawings listed by profile name or number.
I know the chart you mean. I have the large Brosco one in my office showuing their "stock patterns of moldings" in full size. Real handy to have.
Welcome to the
Taunton University of Knowledge FHB Campus at Breaktime.
where ...
Excellence is its own reward!
I can get a photocopied/stalped copy of the chart from my lumberyard.
Just ask ... bet your has something to give out.
if not ... remind me ... I think I know where it is ... I'll Kinko's it and send one off if ya need. Would be best to get what they sell though.

I will attempt to attach a .pdf of a wood moulding catalog. This is from a local lumber yard - T.W. Perry. If the attachment does not work, then you can go to their site and download your own.

good news ... the direct download was fast.
Jeff
Great site Eric, thanks... I've been looking for that myself for a while. Printed it out and put it in a binder.
Thanks Eric.
Thats the closest I've seen what I'm looking for so far. I wish it wasn't PDF but beggars can't be choosers.
To all others thank you. I will check around with my suppliers to see if I can put them to work for me.
