That's a pretty general question - Like "How do you fix a car"? Depends on what's wrong with it.
Your best bet would be to contact the truss manufacturer who built the trusses. They are no doubt well equipped to deal with this situation in Florida.
If you don't know who tha manufacturer is, hire an engineer. Local truss manufacturers may be able to suggest someone familiar with trusses.
Great leadership requires ethics, courage, vision, and reality.
Rex,
Both Sphere and Boss are right, fixing needs engineer or truss company recomendation.
that said
after flying back east to help my parents who were in a house with hurricane andrew.
luckily for my parents I ( a builder) flew in from the west and my brother , a builder from VA drove down with lumber, supplies and a generator. we had enough knowledge and materils to get them secure wnough that they could ride it out until local builders could rebuild ther home.
but for you waiting weeks for an answer when you are watching rain clouds blow in does not help, and maybe what you are doing is trying to get things closed up.
if that is what you are trying to do, close things up, try to find a manufacturesrs ID on a truss. Get as much info as you can, pitch, length etc. Draw a picture of the truss. Draw where the damage is. Fax the info to the truss company with a follow up phone call. explain the situation you ( and a thousand others are in) and maybe , just maybe they can fax back a repair drawing. It might not be engineered stamped to expidite the reapirs, but they can then send a follow up engineer stamped repair for the building department
if you cant find the truss id, chances are a little research will help. How old is the home, who was the truss company within say 50 miles at that time. might be theirs.
But I know as hard as it sounds be patient, unfortunately I am sure all the companies back there are getting hammered with requests, orders etc.
best of luck
Start with one of those bargain chainsaws they're selling off the back of vans down there.
Now, whack up the damaged truss, stack it, burn it, and get your truss plant to make you a new one.
