Hello,
I was just wondering everyone thought of this.
I have two porter cable 2hp 6gal pancake compressors, I have a re-roof coming up and would like to see if I could get by using these compressors.
Do you think if I would run the lines from these into one”mainifold” that I make up with a regulator, that I could run the gun without the compressors constantly cycling.
any thoughts will be appreciated .

yup...
just set the compressors to cycle the same..

This isn't a recommendation, just an observation.
The roofers who work the houses my guys frame up run one Porter Cable pancake compressor on three (count 'em) Paslode guns - two running all the time and one in the hands of the guy working ahead around eaves/gables/odds and ends. It's a five man crew altogether, which means the two gunners each have a placer/hauler working with them. That compressor runs almost constantly but they never seem to run out of air and they are using the same compressor now as they did in March.
Have done something similar. 1-6gal PC and a smaller no name compressor into manifold which fed into a ~ 12 gallon holding tank (Porta-Air? ~$35.) then regulated output to framing gun. Need to set compressors to same pressure to avoid overworking one or the other. We used 120 psi setting on the compressors and regulated out of the holding tank at 95 psi to the gun. Toughest thing was finding 2 electric circuits to plug into without running extension cords.
The rig wasn't overly pretty but it got sheathing, roof deck and subflooring down without waiting for the compressor to catch up.
