Uses for salvaged chalkboard slate?

I enjoy finding new uses for salvaged building material, and have recently come into a load of slate chalkboards from a 1920s schoolhouse- wondering if anyone has worked with this, or has unique applications for it? The pieces are 3′ x 3′ up to 3’x5’…I don’t know the exact thickness. My first thought was to cut it into tiles, but what else?

Tables, either coffee tables or tables for kids. I think some people have used them for countertops.
You might consider throwing a finish frame around them and selling them to bars as grafitti boards for their bathrooms. Bathroom humor being what it is, it could save the bar owner some money covering the stuff they don't want to keep around.
Make yourself a (small) pool table.
Chalkboard Slate
I recently built a raised panel arched door dart board cabinet out of ash and would have loved to have a piece of slate for the sides. I ended up having to use chalkboard paint and mdf which is OK but not the "real deal"
If I had that slate, I'd likely just put frames around them, or cut them into smaller pieces and make chalkboards for pool tables, dart cabinets or make a bunch of sandwich boards for bistros and other shops.They look great, are a snap to build and sell not too bad And if you made enough to cover your costs, you could always make something for a local kids playground and let them go to town on it.
You'll want to cut it with a diamond wet saw unless you like dust and the great outdoors. But have fun and post a pic if you come up with something cool.

I used a lot of them as flooring in a 3' x 3' size .
Fasten to the outside of your garage wall and turn all the neighborhood kids loose. Being today's generation, they won't have a clue about what a chalk board is and will have a blast.
...anyone who misbehaves gets to stay behind and clean the board. Hahahaha... remember that?
