I’m currently building a screened poorch. I am planning to lay slate over the existing cedar 2×6 decking with 1/2″ to 5/8″ sheathing and 1/2″ backerboard. The underside of the decking is over the ground and is not covered. The question is. Do I put down a plastic vapor barrier and if yes do I put it under the decking (on the joists) or on top of the decking.
