I have a small attached garage that is way to hot right now. How is the best way to vent it? I have soffit vents but nothing else,is it better to roof vent/ridge vent or gable vent? I do have a radiant panel heater and I do plan on insulating the garage. Thanks,Juanny

The Portascanner uses ultrasonic technology to isolate the smallest air leaks, making it easier to air-seal an enclosure.

Venting is far less important than finishing the ceiling (so it is air tight) and then insulating above the ceiling. The venting itself is best acomplished with continuous ridge vents and continuous soffet vents of more or less equal free vent area (usually about half the gross area of each vent).
If you are still using this garage to park cars in (or if you are using it for a shop where there will be volitile organic compound being used) BE SURE you make the interface between the garage and the house absolutely airtight --including any doorways. Attached garages are the number one source of indoor air pollution, especially low level carbon monoxide poisoning.
NEVER warm up the car in the garage. If you must warm up a car, immediately back out of the garage and close the garage door while the car is warming up.
All of this is more important than how you are venting the garage.
Is you garage door made of insulated panels?
Is your garage for storing cars and other stuff, or is it primarily a workshop? What do you want to use it for, and how are you currently using the space?
Where in the country are you located (hint: fill in your profile!)

Is the attached garage a cathedral ceiling, or a flat ceiling with storage above?

It is all open with a storage loft above the overhead door.
What is the pitch of your roof?
Personally I'm thinking you might get the best bang for your buck by insulating the underside of your rafters - 2" ridgid foam board attached across battens. The heat is probably coming most through your roof and your garage door, depending on its orientation.Rebuilding my home in Cypress, CA
