Would like to know how to waterproof the inside of a brick planter box.The inside surface currently has a cement veneer, but I would like to keep water from infiltrating through it . Would appreciate any advice.

Line it with copper and be done with it for your lifetime.

Arnold,
surely thought that your posting would generate lots of responses...as we discussed earlier, a cheaper, although less durable, solution would be to apply some sort of membrane coating designed for wet conditions which could be sprayed on or applied by hand...I bet that Home Depot or Builders Square sells something that would work well at a fraction of the cost of copper linings...

*look into a product called Bituthene -- many engineers specify it in my area for waterproofing concrete foundation walls. It's flexible enough you could use a continuous strip to waterproof the sides, and as long as you overlap the layer on the bottom you should get good results.
