In renovating my house I am removing, stripping, releading and cementing all of the leaded glass double hung sash. Replacement is not an option, both from a budgetary and asthetic point of view. As I have read that most heat loss is via the perimeter of the sash, I want to weather strip. I saw something about puttin a groove in the sash to insert nylon pile stripping, but did’nt get the details. Also, where does one place the strip elsewhere, around the entire perimeter? Finally, what about the horizontal mating surface between the top and bottom rails of the two sashes. Any thoughts or techniques would be appreciated.
