I have just finished lowering the foundation of my brick house. It was built on very fine sandy soil. Now I am weatherproofing the exterior; parging, tarring, gravel up to the top of the new foundation, and a continuous membrane to draw water away from the house. I have planned to use weeping tile tied into the main drain to deal with the water table. However, the sand is an exceptional drainage and I fear roots will zero in on the weeper and eventually break it open and block up the main drain.
